Our Statement Of Faith
The Holy Spirit has been sent into the world, in one aspect, to lead the church into all truth, (John 16:13) we humbly submit to His leading and guidance for understanding
We believe that the Bible is the God-inspired and only written Word of God, without error. We endeavor to maintain the simplicity of the biblical testimony and its stated practices. We do not accept as truth any revelation, vision, dream, prophecy or discernment which contradicts Scripture or cannot be verified by it. We believe that the Old Testament must always be taught in light of the revelation provided in the New Testament. 2 Timothy 3:16-17.
We believe in the literal, physical return of the Lord Jesus Christ to take authority and rule on the earth(Acts 1: 9-11). We believe in the rapture of the Church when those who are alive shall be translated up to meet him in the air. Those who have died in the faith will be resurrected and precede those who are alive. We shall all be changed and caught up to be with the Lord(1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). Satan will be judged and humankind’s enemy (death) shall be destroyed. It is then that the Lord shall establish a new heaven and new earth.
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that regeneration by the Holy Ghost is absolutely essential for personal salvation and that salvation is wholly by grace though faith in the work of Jesus Christ who died for our sins. Ephesians 2:8-9.
We believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the Cross provides healing for the human body in answer to believing prayer. Ephesians 1:7.
We believe Water Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus, who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.” Matthew 3:13-17.
We believe in the Holy Sacrament of Communion. We acknowledge the ordinance of the Lord’s Supper should be done in remembrance of Jesus Christ; as a testimony of our communion with Him. This ordinance is a personal and public statement of faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 11:23-34.
We believe in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy and separated life in the present world. Jesus Christ facilitates the baptizing of the Holy Spirit upon the believer (Matthew 3:11). We believe that Baptism in the Holy Spirit happens once at the point of Salvation but Christians can receive multiple re-fillings of the Holy Spirit’s power into their lives (Acts 13:52).
We believe marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman in covenant commitment for a lifetime. We believe children, from the moment of conception, are a blessing and heritage from the Lord. Parents are to demonstrate to their children God’s pattern for marriage, parents are to teach their children spiritual and moral values and to lead them, through consistent lifestyle example and loving discipline, to make choices based on biblical truth. Children are to honor and obey their parents. Genesis 2:22-24, Mark 10:6-9, 1 Corinthians 7:2
